Saju is a Korean tradition. In Korea it is also called “Palja” (팔자), which means “eight characters”. Your birth year, month, day and hour each give two characters: eight in total. They show how the Five Elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water – are mixed in your chart.
People use Saju to reflect on themselves: what they like to do, what they may need more of, and which themes the new year may bring. It is a cultural tradition and a way to ask good questions. It is not science and it cannot tell you what will happen.
